A perfect lunch spot for decent/reasonably priced dumplings. I regularly get the chicken thai basil duplings as well as the pork sliders, which is on amazing stick buns. I tried the chocolate dumplings, which wasn't bad, but just not my favorite.
MoreThe shrimp dumplings are amazing. The good thing: you'll come back for more. The bad thing: not much variety will leave you wanting something different. staff always welcomes you with a smile - and they serve beer!
MoreI discovered this place from the food truck they had parked in Central Park and fell in love! The dumplings are great and they had something for everyone. They had pork, chicken, veggie and I think a spicy steak?! The freshly made lemonade is the best part!
Moresimilar to chipotle in its assembly-line style of fast food. the green-tea milkshake is a must-get. sounds gross, but gross is this year's great.
MoreI came here (on my birthday, I think) after searching for *any* place that served edamame dumplings (other than Buddakan). The variety was good, but the dumplings were mediocre. Frozen dumplings (granted, which I love) from a Chinese grocery store are better. The price is good, so the place is serviceable in a pinch.Price: $10Overall: BFrequency: OnceLast Visited/Updated: 2010
MoreClear Soup is WAY too salty. Miso also disappointing. Dumplings good but very expensive. Fast service, but not worth the cost.
MorePork & Chinese Chive Dumplings are incredible here. Now appearing at the former Tavern On The Green in Central Park.
Morethis is one of the best places for dumplings in all of the city. while the place is clean and friendly the decor isn't the best. the people there are friendly, and there is always an interesting mix of music. the dumplings themselves are wonderful. there is a lot of variety and options to go with the dumplings.
MoreWe thought we'd try somewhere new for dinner so we ordered delivery. We were told 20-40 minutes so after waiting an hour we called to check on them. They said just another five minutes but still no food. Almost an hour and a half later out order finally arrived. The dumplings MIGHT have been OK if they were warm, but of course after waiting that long they were cool and congealed together into one blob in their containers. We most likely won't be ordering from here again.
MoreI liked the first dumpling (i got the vegetarian edamame). Then the high sodium level got to me, and i realized the dumplings didn't have that much flavor on their own. Also, more than $1 per dumpling is too expensive.
MoreDumpling fillings are not very flavorful on their own unless drenched in the housemade dipping sauces, which are pretty tasty. The slider buns were dry and arrived cold when delivered. The food is decent, but definitely over-priced, even for Manhattan.
MoreOrdered pickup via Seamless. I expected the Peanut Sate Noodle Soup to have a bit more spiff to it, but instead it was rather bland. The soup was essentially just vegetables and noodles in a thick beige-colored broth. For a place that had "Dumplings" in the name, one would imagine that they serve pretty good dumplings. As most of these other reviews said, the dumplings were not very tasty on their own, and the sauce was way too salty. I did not eat in, so I can't say much for the decor other than it looked very clean, at a quick glance. The service was great, despite the place being empty during the very beginning of the lunch hour.
MoreIf you ask me, I'd say go to Chinatown instead. You could get 30 dumplings for the price of 6 dumplings at Rickshaw Dumpling Bar. But if you are in the area and crave dumplings, this will do. They have a few to choose from and you could get exotic with duck or kimchi beef. Don't leave without trying the chocolate dessert filled one.
MoreMEH. Dumplings should be cheap and delicious, instead here they are mediocre and pricey. The flavors aren't bad, but everything else about this place ruins it for me. Dumpling Man in the East Village wins for me outside of Chinatown, super cheap and yummy.
Morebest dumplings anywhere.
I love shrimp dumplings! Yum
They're nice and all, but the dumplings really aren't that good.
I used to go to Richshaw Dumpling on 23rd a lot since I always crave dumplings and let's face it. Sometimes you're not in Chinatown and sometimes Chinatown is far. The dumplings are pretty expensive and are more gyoza like. What you pay for 8 dumplings here you can probably get about 30 pieces in Chinatown. The one true thing here are the chocolate filled ones for dessert. Worth it!
